We are one of the eight cheese fondue restaurants in Amsterdam. We are located in the lively Warmoesstraat, in the heart of Amsterdam. We have been around since 1977 and run with the whole family, we are still one of the few authentic restaurants in the street. The building in which the restaurant is located dates from the year 1534. The Karbeel owes its name to the carbels on the ceiling. A karbeel is the angled beam that connects the wall to the rafter beam. The Karbeel once started in the Warmoesstraat at number 58, where you can see the Karbeels on the ceiling. In the year 2004, the Karbeel moved to its current address.

The Karbeel serves 7 different cheese fondues, from a classic Suisse to specialties with delicious flavors. The fondue is served with bread. In addition, you can also opt for wedged patatoes, raw or baked vegetables for baptism. In addition to fondues, various fish, meat and pasta dishes are also served. So something for everyone.

We stand for service, conviviality and good food from the first piece of dipped bread to the last bite of dessert. To make your choice of food taste even better, we have a carefully composed wine list, where our staff is happy to help you make a choice.
